Adventure in Motion Film Contest Is Back and We’re Playing

Back for its 3rd year, the Adventure in Motion Short Film Contest presented by the Adventure Travel Trade Association offers tourism organizations and businesses with inspiring adventure travel films a chance to see how their film stacks up in a friendly competition.

In 2014, we were awarded 3rd place for our film, Rethinking Adventure Travel. This year, we think we have a great story to really raise the stakes, but we need your help.

We’ve partnered with our friends at Mountain Lodges of Peru to enter our joint film, “Salkantay Inca Trail: The Ultimate Trek to Machu Picchu.”  Following the recent success of the film’s marketing campaign with major media pickups from National Geographic, Travel + Leisure, AFAR, and others, we feel this film and its powerful, character-driven story will resonate with adventure travel enthusiasts and travelers who venture to cast their votes.  We hope we can earn your vote.

The film features veteran mountain guide Dalmiro Portillo and the rugged 7-day Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu.  Mount Salkantay, also known as “Savage Mountain,” is an ominous presence along the trek that evokes both trepidation and determination among the travelers, inspiring a spiritual connection with the sacred mountains (apus) and pachamama (mother earth).  See this dynamic play out against a backdrop of awe-inspiring imagery, and blood-pumping adventure scenes, through the refreshing lens of Peruvian adventure guide, Dalmiro, as he shares his respect for the beautiful mountain landscapes he’s spent his life exploring.
