LA Times Travel Show: January 17

GLP’s Founder & Chief Storyteller, Rob Holmes will be speaking at the LA Times Travel Trade Show on “The Power of Storytelling in Travel.”  This will be 16th year that LA Times Travel Show has hosted this event, which is considered the largest travel event in LA. If you plan on attending, see more information about Rob’s talk and where to find him.

Winter Outdoor Retailer in Salt Lake City: January 24th

Rob will be representing GLP at the Winter Outdoor Retailer Conference in Salt Lake City, where GLP will be hosting a charity cocktail and micro brew hour with our friends from New Roots and Hornytoad! This popular outdoor gear trade show features the best of the winter sports market, attracting thousands of buyers and winter sports manufacturers showcasing gear products. If this sounds like your cup of tea, it’s easy to register.


 FoodWorx in Portland: February 4th

Rob will be speaking at the World Food Travel Association’s second annual FoodWorx: The Future of Food Conference in Portland, Oregon on Tuesday, February 4th. FoodWorx features short TED-style talks and is aimed at everyone who is interested in exploring issues in and around food and drink, including consumers, trade, journalists, students – everyone. Topics covered hang on four branches: food and economics; food and environment; food and society; and food and health. Tickets are only $99 (until Jan. 24, $129 after) and that includes lunch. Foodworx is an innovative forum for discussing food and drink issues and driving positive change – register now to join us!

 Educational Travel Conference: February 5th – 8th

Rob will be presenting at the Educational Travel Conference at Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld. ETC brings together all of the key and established operators, destinations, and suppliers serving the alumni, museum, and nonprofit travel market. The conference offers a great opportunity to meet with business partners from all corners of the world, at one time, under one roof. With over 300 US tour operators, travel suppliers, and foreign operators, it’s a networking nirvana. Register here!

Minnesota Zoo : February 10th

Rob will be presenting at the Minnesota Zoo in Apple Valley on February 10 as part of the zoo’s Our World Speaker Series – a free series that aims to introduce community members to experts in local and global wildlife conservation and environmental issues. Rob’s talk, “Storytelling on the Frontlines of Wildlife Conservation,” discusses conservation challenges like human-wildlife conflict, illegal wildlife trade, poaching, habitat loss, and how global conservation storytelling can make a difference. While the speaker series is free, pre-registration is required as spots for these events disappear quickly! Sign up to attend.

 African Tourism Seminar in Washington DC: February 21

The Africa Tourism Association’s (ATA) seminar in Washington DC attracts tourism industry professionals and diplomatic representatives. Participants will explore key growth trends that have helped African tourism grow in recent years and will be encouraged to connect with other companies  to develop strategic business partnerships.


ITB-Berlin: March 5-8

GLP will be hosting a special film event at ITB Berlin, the largest travel show in the world! We’re super psyched! Considered the world’s biggest travel trade show, ITB welcomes destinations, tour operators, booking systems, carriers, hotels and all other suppliers who want to embellish their customers’ best weeks of the year.
