This inspiring film gives an insider perspective on Bonito, an exemplary ecotourism paradise in the southern state of Brazil’s Mato Grosso do Sul that will soon be certified as the first carbon-neutral ecotourism destination in the world. GLP Films partnered with The Tourism Authority of Mato Grosso do Sul (FUNDTUR) to showcase Bonito’s cultural and ecological offerings, alongside the destination’s successful ecotourism and sustainable travel initiatives that protect one of the last wild refuges on earth. Watch to see Bonito through the eyes of local sustainable tourism leaders, who share how the confluence of tourism and climate action in Bonito can be an example for other destinations in Brazil, and around the world.

Discover the Pantanal: A Journey Through Brazil's Biodiversity and Culture

The Pantanal is known as the world’s largest tropical wetland habitat, distinguished by its culture, nature, and cuisine. It is sculpted by the ebb and flow of the rainy and dry seasons, and the people who inhabit this unique ecosystem are shaped by these seasonal changes as well. The Pantaneiro cowboys are the torchbearers of tradition, protecting their way of life and also striving to find a balance between sustainability and the economic activity that supports farms and local communities. For travelers seeking a slow, immersive experience, the locally-owned homestays offer a unique opportunity to encounter the culture and heritage of the authentic Pantaneiro life. This award-winning film won Silver for the 2024 Travel Weekly’s Megellan Awards.
