Sustainable Travel Campaign Video Wins Top Destination Marketing Award from Travel Weekly

Kennebunk, Maine (November 17, 2020) - Travel Weekly announced GLP Films’ Destination Marketing Video for Tourism Authority of Thailand as a 2020 Magellan Award gold winner in the “Destination Marketing” category. The winners were selected from entries spanning the U.S. and around the world by a panel of top travel industry professionals. The Magellan Awards honor outstanding design, marketing, and services in a broad range of industry segments including Hospitality, Travel Destinations, Cruise Lines, Online Travel Services, Airlines and Airports, Travel Agents and Agencies, Tour Operators, and Ground Transportation. “Magellan winners are those in the industry who communicate travel’s promise, through words, images and design, in ways that ring true andstand out,” said Arnie Weissmann, editor in chief of Travel Weekly. “They create the environments and craft the messages that spark traveler’s imaginations.”

The award-winning Destination Marketing Video by GLP Films, “Sustainable Community-Based Tourism in Thailand,” celebrates mangrove conservation through a sustainable community-based tourism model in southern Thailand's Baan Talae Nok village along the Andaman Coast. The video is part GLP’s “Sustainable Thailand” video series and content marketing campaign to support Tourism Authority of Thailand’s commitment to promoting responsible tourism.

“Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is honored to be recognized for our efforts in promoting sustainable and community-based tourism. We recognize the importance of sustainable tourism for the future of travel in Thailand, and to protect our cultural and natural heritage and benefit our communities in a meaningful way,” comments Charinya Kiatlapnachai, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand New York Office.

“Tourism Authority of Thailand is excited to partner with GLP Films on our first video campaign dedicated to sustainable travel. Promoting experiences that benefit local communities and help Thailand better integrate sustainability as a fundamental principle for tourism in Thailand is in alignment with the sustainable development goals and helping the future of travel in Thailand long term,” comments Siriwan Seeharach, Director of the Tourism Authority of Thailand Los Angeles Office.

“We are excited that GLP’s approach of promoting sustainable tourism through strategic video marketing campaigns is recognized by Travel Weekly’s Magellan Awards. These awards represent the best in marketing for the travel industry, and we are very proud to accept our second Magellan Award, adding Tourism Authority of Thailand to our growing list of industry recognized, award-winning content marketing campaigns for sustainable tourism,” said Rob Holmes, Founder and Chief Strategist of GLP Films.
