GLP Films Reaches Finalist Status in 2022 “Adventure in Motion” Global Film Contest

Kennebunkport, Maine (July 27, 2022) -- GLP Films, an award-winning content marketing agency specializing in travel trade storytelling, has been chosen as a finalist in the Adventure Travel Trade Association (ATTA)’s 7th Annual “Adventure in Motion” film contest. GLP’s film submission, “Ban Talae Nok: Welcoming with Open Hearts,” is a celebration of community, cultural exchange, and conservation on the Andaman coast of southern Thailand. The video presents a moving story showcasing how one community has utilized mangrove conservation to develop a sustainable, community-based tourism model, and is competing in the “Adventure Needs Community” category.

“For villages in Southern Thailand like Ban Talae Nok, the mangrove forests are their supermarket,” says Rob Holmes, GLP Founder and Chief Strategist. “They are a protective barrier from the sea and a habitat to be preserved. This film demonstrates how communities can preserve their natural resources and heritage, and engage in tourism in a sustainable way by teaching travelers about local customs and traditions.” The full film can be viewed here.

In addition, GLP is doubly excited to announce that our film partner, The Explorean Discovery Resorts, was also selected as a finalist in the competition. Their film submission, ““Kohunlich: Guided by Nature,” captures the unique natural legacy of Kohunlich, Mexico through the eyes of local guide, Dany, and is a finalist in the “Adventure Needs Nature” category. 

“It was a joy to help tell Dany’s incredible story,” says Rob. “We are really excited to see our work celebrated in this way.”

ATTA’s “Adventure in Motion” film contest has established itself as a coveted travel industry competition, bringing in hundreds of film submissions from leading travel brands around the world. The top 9 films are currently being hosted on the Adventure.Travel site, where travelers are invited to vote on their favorite films via the contest landing pages. On August 25th, the votes will be tallied and the top 3 films will be featured at the Adventure Travel World Summit in Lugano, Switzerland in October, where a live audience will vote on the final winner of the contest.

Both films can be viewed now at Adventure in Motion. Voting is open until August 19th.
